Use Your Smart Phone without Battery - Dual Battery Feature of Samsung

Our smart phones battery dies too fast and that causes problem for us most of the times. To solve this, we generally carry a backup battery. We have to turn off our phone before replacing the discharged battery. We all know the uneasiness that we face while our phone is OFF.

low-battery1

Samsung is coming up with a smart phone that doesn’t get shut down when its battery is removed and thus you can use smart phone without battery.

The smart phone will consist of two batteries; the main battery and the supplementary battery. The main battery recharges the supplementary battery, thus you don’t have to recharge it separately. The supplementary battery will be present inside the smart phone itself and you won’t be able to remove it.

HOW IT WORKS?

Samsung is going to place a sensor under the battery cover. Whenever you will remove the battery the cover sensors will get activated and will switch the power supply of your smart phone from main battery to the supplementary battery. Thus your smart phone will keep on working even after removing its battery.

The objective of supplementary battery is not to run the phone same as the main battery. It is supposed to only act as a backup and supply power to only selected parts of the smart phone. After switching the power supply to supplementary battery, the CPU sends phone to sleep mode so that it can retain it state rather than loosing all the data due to abrupt shutdown.

Nokia’s Featured HERE Maps Coming To Android, Exclusive To Samsung Devices For Now

If any of you have ever used a Lumia mobile, you may have some experience with Nokia’s fantastic HERE Maps app. The application is similar to Google Maps in that features advanced turn-by-turn navigation and downloadable maps. Samsung turns away from Google Maps, embraces Here Maps for it's Galaxy Phones instead!

Nokia announced recently that they would be bringing the app to Samsung’s line of Tizen-powered Gear devices for turn-by-turn pedestrian navigation. However, the fun doesn’t end there as Nokia has announced that HERE Maps will soon be available for Android, although for now it will be exclusive to Samsung devices.

Google Maps are one of the main strengths of Android OS and in an increasingly surprising turn of events, we come to know that Samsung will be using Nokia's Here maps instead of the traditional Google Maps for it's Galaxy phones running Android.

HERE Maps is a fantastic application which has a number of advantages over the competition. Notably, it supports offline navigation using the phone’s built-in GPS, and allows you to download over 200 maps to your device’s local storage. HERE Maps also works seamlessly with Glimpse and they claim all features of HERE Maps will be available in offline mode on Android (except traffic information, presumably).

Dubbed "Here for Android", these maps will be available exclusively for Galaxy devices but in a Beta version when the Gear S smartwatch arrives in stores.

How To Take Screenshots On Your Android Mobile?

Taking a screenshot on Android is easy, but the process isn't the same for every device. Before you learn how to take a screenshot you should check which version of Android your smartphone or tablet is running.

If you’re using Android devices running Android 4.0 or latter versions, the system has inbuilt screenshot taking capability. Screenshot taking on devices which run Android 3 and former will need you ti have the device rooted. Taking screenshots however is not obvious on Android 4.2 and latter. In this article I am going to write about how you can take screen shots on different versions of Android.

Taking screenshots on Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich

On devices running Android 4.0 to Android 4.2, you can in fact capture the screenshot in 2 different methods. One is by pressing the power on/off switch for a moment to display the power menu. There you will see the capture screenshot button, just tap on and the screenshot will be taken and saved.
Another method is to hold down your volume-down button and the power button, until the screenshot has been taken.

Taking screenshots on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and latter versions

On devices running android 4.2 or latter, you will have to to hold down the power button and volume down button together until the screenshot has been taken for this. This is the only method that is integrated into the system on Android devices running 4.2 and latter versions of Android. There are many apps for taking the screen shots on the play store which can be used too.

Taking screenshots on Samsung devices running Android

On some Samsung android devices the process is somewhat different. Instead of holding down volume-down button along with the power button you will have to hold down the power button and the home button to take the screenshot. So if you have an android device from Samsung, and none of the above methods are working for you, you may have to use this method for taking the screenshot.

Other Mothod
The second method is simple, too. On some phones the 'Take a screenshot' option is available from the Power off menu. Press and hold the power button for 1- to 2 seconds until the power options screen appears. If the option is available select 'Take a Screenshot'. Don't worry, it will take a screenshot of whatever is behind this menu.

How To Enable USB Debugging & Secret Developer Options In Your Android Mobile?

USB Debugging Mode is one thing that you cannot skip to know if you are an Android user. The primary function of this mode is to facilitate a connection between an Android device and a computer with Android SDK (Software Development Kit). So it can be enabled in Android after connecting the device directly to a computer via USB. For most customization options you will need to enable the USB debugging on your phone.

For Android Mobile 4.2 and above

If you’re having an android device with running Android 4.2 and above, you might be searched for the developer options in your mobile. But in the latest versions of android, Google has hidden the developer options so that people with less knowledge won’t mess up their devices.

Fallow these steps:-

    1. Go to Settings menu on your device.
    2. Go to About submenu. In some devices the About submenu will be under “More”/”General” submenu. On some other devices (mostly HTC devices you will have to goto Settings> About> Software Information> More)
    3. Now scroll to “Build Number” and tap it 7 times.
    4. After tapping 7 times you will see an alert saying “You are now a developer”/”Developer mode has been enabled”.
    5. Now if you go to your Settings menu, you will see the developer options submenu over there.
    6. Tap on the Developer options and then turn on USB Debugging.

Let me know if you have any doubts in comment section.

How To Avoid Blue Screen Border In Your Android Mobile / Tab? - Its Nothing But Magnification Gestures

Every android user came through the common problem – all of sudden screen content will enlarge and a light blue border about one millimeter wide will appear on all four sides of the screen. Then complete loss of screen control (No swipe or gestures etc). The only way out of this is for me to go to home and start again which is of course most annoying.

0

Some of the screen shots are below:

1

Screenshot_2013-12-30-23-59-04[1]

Why this is happening?

When you triple tap your screen this will happen. This happened due to magnification gestures enable for your device.

What are Magnification gestures?

Magnification gestures is an accessibility feature using which you can temporarily magnify what’s on your screen or use magnification mode to easily zoom and pan your screen.  You can turn Magnification gestures on or off on your Android device. When this feature is turned on, you can zoom in/out or pan by triple tapping the screen temporarily to magnify the screen.

Use of Magnification gestures:

This feature given to zoom the entire screen in some Android devices. With this feature  you have a little relief for the eyes. On Android devices, some things like browser pages can be enlarged with a double-tap or a two-finger spread gesture. Most recent devices with Android 4.2 and up also have a general zoom feature. The exact details of accessing it may vary, depending on the device. Here is one common procedure.

How to charge your Android phone battery faster

What’s worse than a dead phone? One that takes too long to charge! This has certainly happened to most of us before: you’re rushing out of the door and you happen to see there’s just 5% left of battery! Here are some tips on how you can get your Android phone to charge faster!
Fallow these useful tips to charge your phone faster:
1. The right plug and charger
Use the charger that came with your phone this will give best results even though Android device chargers are universal.
If you are in a hurry, avoid plugging your phone into your computer or laptop, because this will definitely slow down the charging speed.

2. Get into airplane mode
Enable airplane mode on your device to speed up charging. Depending on your device. There could be lot of ways to do this. For example, simply long press on the power button, and select airplane mode when it appears. Or you can also go into the Quick Settings, by swiping down with two fingers.
Note: Airplane mode blocks all wireless radios on your device, which means you won’t receive any calls, messages, internet access etc, but it’s all worth it when you think you’ll have a device that will still be on for the next few hours.
After charge your phone / after removing charger plug, dont forget to turn off airplane mode to get calls.
androidpit-airplane-mode

3. Turn off your phone

If you don’t actually need your phone at the moment, go ahead and turn it off completely. Obviously, any alarms or notifications won’t come through when it is off, but this is something you might just need to live without if you are racing the clock.

4.Switch off unnecessary features

Check to see if you have any unnecessary features on, like Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, NFC etc. Close out of all your apps and stop your phone from doing any automatic backups or updating apps from the Google Play Store.
These are just small, but golden tips when you are in a rush. Plus, everything can be easily switched back to normal when you’re out of the door and sitting in the train or bus.
androidpit-galaxy-s4-setting-1

5. Don't touch your phone while charging!

You may touch your phone every thirty seconds, because you have an important call, message or something.  Avoid this, Because the screen is the biggest battery drainer. So dont touch your phone while it is in charging.

Other Tips:-
  • Widgets can use a lot of battery. So unless you can’t live without a widget, try uninstalling it.
  • If your phone has an AMOLED display, you can create a pure black wallpaper to save the battery. AMOLED displays will turn of the display when the output color is pure black.
Try This trick……If you any question or any doubt please feel free to comment below.

What Are The Smart Phone Sensors? – Every Smart Phone User Should Know Before Buying

Mobile Phone Sensors

Modern smart phones come with a variety of sensors that automate or easy many of our daily tasks. Here in this post I am explaining sensors on your smart phone.

Sensors

Ambient light Sensor:

Ambient Light sensors are used to adjust the brightness of the screen that saves battery power.

01-ambient-light-sensor-in-mobile

Proximity or Light Sensor:

The proximity sensor is common on most smart-phones. The primary function of a proximity sensor is to disable accidental touch events. For example the ear coming in contact with the screen and generating touch events, while on a call.

proximity-call111

To overcome this issue, device manufacturers came up with the idea of a placing a proximity sensor close to the speaker, which will then detect any object in the vicinity of the speaker. If any object is present (ex. user's ear), then the touch events can be assumed to be accidental & ignored. Proximity sensor measures the distance between two objects, usually the device screen and our hands/face etc.

proximity-sensorl

The proximity Sensors useful to detect how close the screen of the phone is to your body. The proximity sensor detects, the user holds the phone to her face to speak. In this case the touch screen and keys are disabled to prevent from accidentally being pressed also to save the power when the screen is turned off. This allows the phone to perform simple forms of context recognition associated with the user interface. Besides it is useful for detecting towers and sources of interference.

NOTE:  You can test the effect of Proximity sensor by moving your hand forward and backward in front of the device.

Accelerometer Sensor:

Accelerometer sensor is applied to detect device directions, i.e. auto rotate screen when the device is rotated vertically. It is also widely used in game development.

accesolorometer2

Accelerometer Sensor helps to improve user interface and use of the camera. They automatically determine the between a landscape and portrait view also correctly orient captured photos during viewing on the phone. When you rotate your device sideways, the Web browser automatically switches the screen to landscape mode so you can view wider space. The camera relies on the accelerometer to tell whether you are taking a picture in portrait or landscape mode.

accesolorometer

Gyroscope Sensor

Gyroscopes are used in Smart phones and tablet PCs for finding the position and orientation of devices. Gyroscope sensor can measure six directions at a time. You will be able to see the effects immediately by rotating your phone slightly. Now Gyroscope sensor is mostly used in 3D game development, and possibly indoor navigation in future.

gyroscope

Accelerometer and gyroscope Difference

Accelerometers in mobile phones are used to detect the orientation of the phone. The gyroscope adds an additional dimension to the information supplied by the accelerometer by tracking rotation or twist.

An accelerometer measures linear acceleration of movement, while a gyro on the other hand measures the angular rotational velocity. Both sensors measure rate of change; they just measure the rate of change for different things.

In practice, that means that an accelerometer will measure the directional movement of a device but will not be able to resolve its lateral orientation or tilt during that movement accurately unless a gyro is there to fill in that info.

With an accelerometer you can either get a really "noisy" info output that is responsive, or you can get a "clean" output that's sluggish. But when you combine the 3-axis accelerometer with a 3-axis gyro, you get an output that is both clean and responsive in the same time."

Compass Sensor:

The compass helps to make awareness of its position in relation to the physical world to enhance location-based applications.

The digital compass that's usually based on a sensor called magnetometer provides mobile phones with a simple orientation in relation to the Earth's magnetic field. As a result, your phone always knows which way is North so it can auto rotate your digital maps depending on your physical orientation.

 GPS:

The GPS, which allows the phone to localize itself, enables new location-based applications such as local search, mobile social networks, and navigation.

GRIP Sensor:

The grip sensor technology allows the user to grip the bottom of the phone to activate the display. It uses pattern recognition techniques for identifying the users’ hand grips from the touch sensors.
