The first time the Nokia Lumia is used with SIM card, the correct settings are usually applied automatically.
- To verify this, start the browser/internet explorer, and navigate to http://www.google.com.
- If the Internet connection is not working, choose you need to setup GPRS/3G settings manually. Here I will show you how to set up your mobile phone for manual settings. Note that settings to be entered according to your network.

STEPS TO FALLOW:
- Go to the Start screen.
- Scroll to the right.
- Scroll down.
- Choose Settings.
- Scroll down.
- Choose mobile network, in some latest devices it is CELLULAR instead of mobile network
- Under Data connection, choose the text box.
- Choose on.
- Press the Back key.
- Scroll down in settings.
- Choose access point.
- Choose add.
- Under Connection name, enter your network name.
- Under Data type, choose default.
- Edit your Internet APN settings as follows:
- Under Access Point Name, enter your network accesspoint name.
- Under Username, enter nothing.
- Under Password, enter nothing.
- Scroll down.
- Under Proxy address, enter nothing.
- Under Proxy port, enter nothing.
- Under Network type, choose IPv4.
- Under Authentication type, choose PAP.
- Edit your MMS APN settings as follows:
- Under MMS Access Point Name, enter nothing.
- Under Username, enter nothing.
- Under Password, enter nothing.
- Choose the tick symbol.
- Choose your new setting, and hold it for a few seconds. For example APN2 here. Dont know your network accesspoint name click here and choose acceess point name from GPRS settings, according to your network. Only Indian network providers are listed.
- Choose activate.
- Return to the Start screen.
- Switch the Nokia Lumia off and then on again to activate the settings.
- You can now start using the Internet.
