How To Set Manual GPRS/3G Settings In Your Lumia Phone?

The first time the Nokia Lumia is used with SIM card, the correct settings are usually applied automatically.

  • To verify this, start the browser/internet explorer, and navigate to http://www.google.com.
  • If the Internet connection is not working, choose you need to setup GPRS/3G settings manually. Here I will show you how to set up your mobile phone for manual settings. Note that settings to be entered according to your network.

STEPS TO FALLOW:

  • Go to the Start screen.

  • Scroll to the right.
  • Scroll down.
  • Choose Settings.

  • Scroll down.
  • Choose mobile network, in some latest devices it is CELLULAR instead of mobile network

  • Under Data connection, choose the text box.

  • Choose on.

  • Press the Back key.
  • Scroll down in settings.
  • Choose access point.

  • Choose add.

  • Under Connection name, enter your network name.

  • Under Data type, choose default.
  • Edit your Internet APN settings as follows:

  • Under Access Point Name, enter your network accesspoint name.
  • Under Username, enter nothing.
  • Under Password, enter nothing.
  • Scroll down.
  • Under Proxy address, enter nothing.

  • Under Proxy port, enter nothing.
  • Under Network type, choose IPv4.
  • Under Authentication type, choose PAP.

  • Edit your MMS APN settings as follows:
  • Under MMS Access Point Name, enter nothing.
  • Under Username, enter nothing.
  • Under Password, enter nothing.

  • Choose the tick symbol.

  • Choose activate.

  • Return to the Start screen.

  • Switch the Nokia Lumia off and then on again to activate the settings.
  • You can now start using the Internet.

How To Set Gmail Settings In Samsung Corby GT-S3650?

Here are the Gmail setting to Samsung GT-S3650. I tried browsing the web but its hard to find the RIGHT information.Please tell me if it doesn’t work.

If you search for manual GPRS settings in the internet, you will get lot of articles. But all these articles tells about the Access Point Names (APN), IP addresses and Proxy Port Numbers etc., you don’t get even single article that explains HOW TO SET THAT GPRS SETTINGS IN YOUR MOBILE. So here I will explain how to set those Access point names, IP addresses and Proxy Port Numbers on your Nokia S40 mobile.
In general we will see mainly two types of settings for each network wap and internet. And streaming comes under internet only. The basic difference between these three is given below.
WAP SETTINGS - Generally these settings will be useful to browse websites with your mobile default wap browser.(not like operamini)
INTERNET SETTINGS - Generally these settings will be useful for java applications like Operamini, Ucweb etc. which are used to browse websites faster than your mobile default wap browser.
STREAMING SETTINGS – These are used for watching youtube videos and live tv on your mobile.
For example. you want to set Wap and Streaming settings manually for BSNL network. So for BSNL fallowing are the manual settings.
For BSNL LIVE/WAP
Account Name or Connection Name: BSNL LIVE
Access Point Name(APN): bsnllive
Proxy IP: 10.220.67.131
For BSNL STREAMING
Account Name or Connection Name: BSNL STREAM
Access Point Name(APN): bsnlstream
For BSNL GPRS/ BSNLINTERNET(same as streaming settings)
Account Name or Connection Name: BSNL INTERNET
Access Point Name(APN): bsnlnet
Note: Account Name we can use any name like sachin, software, mobile etc like any name, but choose according to your network. Then you will recognize easily in future.

But all these articles tells about the Access Point Names (APN), IP addresses and Proxy Port Numbers etc., you don’t get even single article that explains HOW TO SET THAT GPRS SETTINGS IN YOUR MOBILE. So here I will explain how to set those Access point names, IP addresses and Proxy Port Numbers on your Nokia S40 mobile.

Account Name or Connection Name: Airtel Live

Access Point Name(APN): airtelfun.com

Proxy IP: 100.001.200.099

For AIRTEL GPRS/INTERNET

Account Name or Connection Name: Airtel GPRS

Access Point Name(APN): airtelgprs.com

For AIRTEL STREAMING (same as INTERNET SETTINGS)

Account Name or Connection Name: Airtel STREAM

Access Point Name(APN): airtelgprs.com

Note: Account Name we can use any name like sachin, software, mobile etc like any name, but choose according to your network. Then you will recognize easily in future.

Fallow The Steps:

You can configure your device with settings that are required for certain services. Your service provider may also send you these settings.

Select Menu > Settings > Configuration > Personal configuration settings.

Personal configuration settings — to manually add new personal accounts for various services and to activate or delete them. To add a new personal account if you have not added any, select Add new; otherwise, select Options > Add new. Select the service type, and select and enter each of the required parameters. The parameters differ according to the selected service type. To delete or activate a personal account, scroll to it, and select Options > Delete or Activate.

For example take Nokia 3110c as S40 mobile.

Some times compare to words, pictures are more explanatory. See below screen shots.

So here I will explain how to set those Access point names, IP addresses and Proxy Port Numbers on your Nokia S60 mobile.

For example. you want to set GPRS settings manually for AIRTEL network. So for Airtel Live fallowing are the manual gprs settings.

Account Name or Connection Name: Airtel Live

Access Point Name(APN): airtelfun.com

Proxy IP: 100.001.200.099

Fallow The Below Steps:

Some times compare  to words, pictures are more explanatory. See fallow below screen shots.

For example take Nokia N73 as S60 mobile.

Step 1: Press Main Menu (red colour box shown in the screen shot) and then press Tools.

Step 2: Press Settings and then Connection.

Step 3: Press Access Point , then press Options and then press New access point.

Step 4: Enter connection name and access point name and other details of your network.

That's it!! Save settings.

Press Main Menu (red color box shown in the 2nd screen shot), and select Services > Options > Bookmark manager > Add bookmark. Write a name for the bookmark and the address of the page defined for the current access point.You can create your own bookmark like google > www.google.co.in and browse.


To set the created access point as the default access point, select Options > Settings > Access point.
