There are several ways to recover your hard disk or pen drive or memory card from corruption that are affected due to the autorun .exe .inf or some other virus.These problems mainly occur due to sharing your personal external hard disk or pen drive with your friend or when you download files from unsecured sites.
Because of the above mentioned activities the problems that occur are
- files in the HDD will be lost.
- folders in the HDD turned to shortcuts.
- or any other extra flie will appear in each and every folder.
STEP TO RECOVER YOUR HARD DISK:
STEP-1.
if it is a simple problem try to see the hidden files in that device. If that hidden files are not important or unknown files simply delete them. Fallow below steps for showing hidden folders and files.
Start--> control panel--> folder options-->switch to view tab-->click show hidden files and folder button. If it is not working move to the next step..
STEP-2. This step is more suitable for those who suffer from autorun files error
METHOD 1:
Copy the below given text and paste in a text file and save it as (any file name) .bat format (examples name.bat, computer.bat, recovery.bat etc.).
Click save button. Try executing it…means right click on the saved file and select run or double click on the file you saved.

attrib -h -r -s -a g:\* /s /d
attrib -h -r -s -a h:\* /s /d
attrib -h -r -s -a i:\* /s /d
attrib -h -r -s -a j:\* /s /d
attrib -h -r -s -a k:\* /s /d
attrib -h -r -s -a l:\* /s /d

METHOSD 2:
- Plug your USB device
- Go to Run -->type cmd (right click and click run as administrator) --> Go to the particular Drive (from where you want to remove autorun.inf) by typing the drive name in command prompt window (eg: G:\)
- Type "attrib -r -a -s -h autorun.inf"
- Now type "del autrun.inf"
- Just remove your USB device after that plug-in again and check it.
METHOD 3:
To Restore Hidden Files and Folders
1. click Start -->type CMD [right click and click run as administrator] or Goto Start --> all programs--> accessories -->command prompt
2. To view the hidden file, go the particular drive first (eg D:\ )
3. Use the attrib command
attrib –s –h –r g:/*.* /s /d
(Here you need to change the directory if needed)
Or
attrib -s -h -a -r /d /s
Like above shown, you can use any Attribute Command Parameters according to your need.
Attribute Command Parameters description given below.
- - means clears an attribute
- H means hidden file attribute
- S means system file attribute
- A means archive file attribute
- R means read-only file attribute
- /S means process matching current folder and all subfolders
- /D means process folders
